“I prefer to be true to myself, even at the hazard of incurring the ridicule of others, rather than to be false, and to incur my own abhorrence.”
― Frederick Douglass

That’s a powerful quote. I try to live by it. I have to admit that sometimes it’s very hard to do so. The lure of the quick buck can often lead you astray. Sticking to you guns in the face of adversity…drawing the line and refusing to budge on integrity is difficult for some.

The biggest reason is fear. Fear of being ostracized. Fear of maybe being wrong. Fear of being fired. Fear of the unknown. Fear of losing money. Could be any number of fears or combinations of them.

But when you know what you’re doing is right, you have your own back.
