Hotel Marketing That Drives Loyalty And Bookings

According to a recent report by eMarketer, digital ad spending in the travel industry will surge past what is spent by consumer packaged goods brands as competition heats up among hotels and airlines.
eMarketer projects nearly $13 billion in digital outlays in travel, making it the fifth-largest vertical overall, replacing consumer product groups in digital advertising.
What’s the reason for the surge in digital spending?
“Travel has historically been big on TV – we’ve seen that with the likes of Expedia and Travelocity – but what we are now seeing is a move from TV storytelling to digital storytelling. We are also seeing hotels competing in getting a traveler to book a hotel lodging.” VP of forecasting Monica Peart at eMarketer.
The hotel market is EXTREMELY competitive. And with a new focus on digital advertising, it’s only going to get more competitive!

So, how do you as an operator get noticed? It’s a very simple answer. Bring your prospects memorable experiences.
If a hotel is looking to offset growing competition from home-sharing services and take back direct bookings from OTAs, (online travel agencies), hotels should seek to connect with prospective guests by aligning with pro sports leagues, music properties and other rightsholders (festivals, events, promotion creators) to build their brands, drive bookings and build preference ,especially among Millennial travelers.

Promotional partnerships allow hotels to move beyond boring room upgrades, late check-outs, bonus points and other standard rewards—most of which are indistinguishable from one chain to another—in favor of unique, one-of-a-kind experiences ranging from special perks at amusement parks to VIP access at concerts, festivals, and sporting events.

A focus on promotional marketing programs will allow your guests to feel like they are a part of something special that gives them access to the things that they love. Additionally, providing access to one-of-a-kind personal experiences, helps hotels become much more than a place of lodging.

Offering “bragworthy” experiences that a guest never would have expected, makes for lifelong, treasured, memories!

The Goal of a Promotional Marketing Campaign?

✅ Drive Additional Room Bookings. Greater affinity and memorable positioning, equated to increased bookings.

✅ Database Accumulation. Using today’s social tools, being able to reach out on a one-to-one basis, regardless of the size of your database, makes your offers personalized and timely.

✅ Content Development. Participating in promotional marketing will afford your property with the opportunity to access content for future digital and social campaigns.

✅ Promotion of Special Packages. Using event participation will allow a hotel property to bundle assets and create a special package that will help drive incremental revenue.

✅ Supporting Causes. We can’t ignore the age in which we now live. In this era, people have come to expect that brands have a focus on doing good in the community. Millennials aren’t the only group who are motivated by social good. There are many event opportunities that will allow a hotel to involve a philanthropic element in a campaign.

✅ Get Noticed. Supporting promotional campaigns on Facebook and Instagram allows a hotel property to drive tremendous exposure and engagement with an audience which can be specifically targeted because of their affinity for travel.

Many people, including savvy travelers, simply don’t engage with traditional advertising, banner ads or anything else that interrupts what they’re trying to enjoy. But by engaging them with a memorable, personal experience driven by great, engaging, content and storytelling, you build a warm audience that is more efficient to target in the future.

The Takeaway: We develop campaigns that get people talking about hotel brands. We create, or align with events that correspond with the prospective guest avatar as of our hotel clients. What Do We Do?

We make memories for your audiences. We call it Fandemonium! Our team can run a campaign in any market in America. Very simply, we drive massive interaction with current and prospective customers in ANY geographic area.

Down the street, or across the country, and we get them engaged with your business. Many businesses that we work with have advertising agencies that make and place their commercials. But those commercials don’t work on Facebook or Instagram.

In fact, they may actually HURT your brand on those platforms.

Our campaigns are also MUCH less expensive than traditional television, radio, or newspaper advertising. We eat them for lunch!
